At Parkhotel Ciutat de Palol we have as a priority objective the safety and well-being of our clients. It is for this reason that, given the situation generated by COVID-19, we want, first of all, to express our solidarity to all those affected and to send you an affectionate greeting, hoping from the bottom of your heart that you and yours will be well in these difficult circumstances.
In response to the extraordinary situation generated and in compliance with the regulations published in Spain and with the aim of protecting everyone’s health, our hotel has adapted its protocols to the new cleaning and safety measures.
In the face of the changing situation in which we live, we commit ourselves to periodically sharing clear information on the measures that we are implementing, so that you can make safe and calm decisions.
Responsibility of all
- Preguem mantenir la distància de seguretat i extremar les mesures d’higiene i neteja per evitar els contagis per Covid 19.
- People over 6 years of age are obliged to use the mask on public roads, outdoor spaces and in any closed space for public use and that are open to the public, regardless of maintaining the physical safety distance.
- Avoid greeting with physical contact, including shaking hands. The safety distance should be respected whenever possible.
- Wash your hands often with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water.
- When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with your elbow flexed or with a tissue. Throw the tissue away immediately and wash your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water.
- If a customer has Covid 19 symptoms, they and their entire family unit must remain in their apartment and notify the reception immediately. Symptoms are: fever, cough, shortness of breath, malaise
- Initially it is planned to open all services and facilities, except for the massage service and reducing the number of shows.
Arrival and check in – check out procedure
- Hydro-alcoholic lotion is offered to each guest upon arrival at the hotel.
- The receptionist will use sanitizing gel between the attention to each guest and will disinfect the reception desk.
- The keys, bracelets and documentation are delivered in sealed envelopes.
- To minimize the time at the reception, the check-in and check-out processes will be streamlined, requesting prior information and informing the client of all the measures taken and how their stay will be.
- Protective screens are installed at the reception desk
- Digital concierge is incorporated through WhatsApp for customer service.
- The maximum capacity of the reception area is determined and the necessary measures are established to ensure the distance between clients and employees.
- Payment by card or other electronic means will be increased and the POS will be disinfected after each use in which there is contact.
- Day visits are absolutely prohibited.
Apartment cleaning
- A protocol for washing and collecting clothes is established in the laundry during the stay and at the client’s exit, avoiding cross-contamination.
- The client may decide to use or not the cleaning service during their stay.
- Daily ventilation of common use areas where there have been customers.
- The cleaning of the room will always be done in the absence of the client.
- Stationery is removed from the room and a digital directory is installed on the TV and web.
- The bathroom trash can is kept with a lid and a non-manual operation.
- The client who wishes may purchase a prevention kit (masks, wipe and gel), at reception.
- The correct cleaning and disinfection of each accommodation before each stay, including all surfaces, door handles, kitchen utensils, etc. This will be done with approved disinfectants.

Hotel areas disinfection
Areas are disinfected and cleaned more frequently during the day, both in guest contact areas, staff and provider areas.
Guest areas
- Hydro-alcoholic gel dispensers are installed at the main host contact points and specific areas.
- The frequency of cleaning in elevators will be intensified throughout the day. Access to the elevator will be allowed in small groups or in the same family unit (maximum 3 people).
- Public toilets will be closed. In case they are used they will be disinfected before and after their daily opening. Cleaning occasions during the day will increase.
- Individual use is recommended in children’s play areas (slide, swing)
Lifts
- Elevator cleaning frequency will be intensified throughout the day, especially buttons and bars.
- Individual use or with the family unit and the use of stairs as far as possible is recommended.
- Access to people with reduced mobility is prioritized.
Gym
- Please disinfect your hands when accessing the facilities, where the material is shared. Likewise, please disinfect the gym machines after use.
- Hydro-gel is available at the entrance and paper to disinfect the machines.
- The machines have been placed 1.5 m apart from each other to guarantee the safety distance.
Public areas
- The frequency of cleaning and disinfection of public spaces has been increased, focusing on the reception, elevators and their buttons, door knobs, hydroalcoholic gel dispensers and room keys, among others …
- A new signage system is incorporated. To inform customers of new uses and the need to maintain a new interpersonal and security space; indication and marking of positions respecting the safety distance in reception, at the entrance to the restaurant and other common spaces.
- Hydro-alcoholic hand solution dispensers are incorporated in common areas.
- Special technology will be used for disinfection, decontamination and sanitation of common areas.
- Please disinfect your hands when accessing the facilities, where the material is shared. Likewise, please disinfect the gym machines after use.
- Distance markers are available to avoid crowding in the busiest areas and to ensure the minimum safety distance.
Swimming pool
- The hammocks are spaced from each other keeping the safety distance recommended by the health authorities.
- Hammocks are disinfected between each client.
- A single direction of entry and exit is established.
- The rescuers will have disinfectant gel that they can offer to guests at any time and it will also be for personal use to guarantee the health and hygiene of both parties.
- The capacity is limited and controlled at all times so that the safety distance can be respected.
- It is forbidden to leave the towel and other personal matters on the deckchair and leave the pool. Our staff is authorized to remove the towel to encourage customer turnover.
- Closed water sources and toilets will be closed. Only in an emergency can the lifeguard ask for the key (pool toilets).
- Access to the pool area with inflatables, floats, balls or toys of any kind will be prohibited.
- Please always follow the instructions and advice of the lifeguards and the general regulations of the swimming pools, which are displayed on the posters.
Spa and children’s pool
- Cleaning and disinfection measures in areas will be intensified.
- The number of people who can remain in the yacusi is reduced, seeking the healthy regulatory distance to avoid infections.
Entertainment
- We open the mini club, which in Ciutat de Palol is not a closed space, but an open space with a tent.
- We adapt the different animation programs to hygiene and distance measures
- We will give priority to the use of individual material for each participant.
- All the material used for daily and frequent entertainment activities is disinfected with sanitizing solution and following standardization protocols.
- The activities program is modified offering options that comply with the provisions of healthy social distance.
- Likewise, the hotel offers activities and shows designed and planned so that it is possible to control the capacity and maintain the safety distance.
- All physical contact activities are eliminated.
- Please provide the name and surname and apartment number of each child when accessing the Miniclub. This will allow us to locate your family or people in charge quickly if necessary.
- We cancel the service of inflatables and water bridges as we cannot guarantee your safety.
Restaurant – Bar – Buffet

- The frequency of cleaning doors and contact areas of guests and staff is increased
- New organization of seating and display of accommodation of tables and chairs in consumer centers, following the provisions of healthy social distance.
- The restaurant / terrace and buffet tables will be sanitized between each use of guest.
- We adapt our buffet to the Market format, offering a wide variety of meals that are directly served by our chefs. In this way the flows are optimized and the handling of the food is limited.
- We provide disposable tablecloths and napkins and suppress single-serving self-service items.
- Payment by card or other electronic means will be encouraged and the POS will be disinfected after each use in which there is contact
Personal
- Adequate PPE is provided after evaluating occupational risks. In the contracted services, the hotel supervises that the staff has the necessary personal protective equipment.
- All staff will carry out training prior to the opening of the hotel on the new protocols implemented, security and hygiene measures to ensure that they can take care of themselves and our guests.
- A mask will be used when the workplace and the risk assessment so determine and whenever the interpersonal distance cannot be respected.
- Objects for personal use (glasses, mobiles, etc.) will be disinfected frequently throughout the entire working day.
Cancellation policy
We have adapted our cancellation policy to offer maximum flexibility to our clients. For this reason, we will allow any modification or cancellation of your reservation free of charge up to 48 hours before your arrival.
Beaches – Platja d’Aro
- You can go to the beach to bathe, walk and do sports and recreational activities, provided that the distance between people of 2 meters is respected and using it responsibly according to the guidelines established by the health authorities.
- The showers, footbaths and toilets can only be used individually (except companions for people who need assistance).
- In Platja d’Aro the capacity will be limited by sectors, estimating 9 m2 per family unit, and bearing in mind that it is necessary to respect 2 meters of distance between users (based on their personal elements) groups can be a maximum of 15 people.
Is there a limitation of access to the beach?
Yes, the city council may establish access limitations, but this will always be free. In addition, they can also set a maximum dwell time.
